DATE: Georgian, c.1750
"LET LIKING LAST". It took seeing it with my own eyes for me to believe that Alex had found a Posy ring with an inscription so pertinent to Instagram. I'm pretty sure there have been rumours of removing the like counts from posts etc. and while I'm not presenting this as a protest against that - it would certainly fit the bill. Remarkable. The ring dates from the 18th century, circa 1750, crafted in silver with F maker's mark and charmingly rustic serif font. The spelling is slightly different, "liking" having picked up an extra E at the end (as words so often did back then).
