DATE: Victorian, c.1890

Here in this fitted box are two gorgeous, excellent quality brooches. Dating from the late Victorian period, circa 1890, each brooch is modelled as branches, with five charming birds resting on each one. These little birdies to me look like song birds, and in many traditions they are seen as the messengers between heaven and earth... Each bird is set with an imperfectly-perfect baroque pearl, with blue enamel tails, and heads with pinky/red breasts and rose cut diamond set eyes. They're each modelled in 15k yellow gold throughout, and remain in lovely antique condition.
