DATE: Victorian, c.1880

This delightful antique brooch is modelled as a hare, set with old and rose cut diamonds throughout. He has long ears, and seems to be leaping with his arms and legs spread right out! The eyes are set with ruby cabochons, while five main old cut diamonds are set along the length of the body... Creating great movement and extra sparkle. The stones are set in silver, while its backed in rich 15 karat gold. This little hare looks lovely worn as a brooch or even a hair pin! And it dates from the Victorian period, circa 1880.
