DATE: Victorian, c.1850

A fantastic Mid-Victorian era brooch, set with turquoise cabochons, pearls, old cut diamonds and ruby cabochons. The main event, a fierce eagle bird hanging freely from a diamond and turquoise cluster top, set across the knife-edge bar brooch. The eagle is pavé set with vibrant turquoise stones- its wings spread out and its claws grasping onto two dreamy pearls. Eagles can be seen to symbolize strength, power and leadership, whilst the pearls suggests its possess something pure and valuable, as it holds onto them. Below, suspending from fine gold chains are two charming turquoise set tassels. Its modelled in 15k gold with silver settings, and makes a powerful statement on your jacket/collar.
