Victorian Imperial Topaz Collar & Pendant Set
Victorian Imperial Topaz Collar & Pendant Set
$9,750.00
Description
DATE: Victorian, c.1890
A magnificent Imperial Topaz collar and pendant set, in its original fitted presentation box. Dating to the late 19th Century - circa 1890 - these wonderful pieces are modelled in 15k gold, and set with the most gorgeous stones: the Imperial (or "precious") pink, and sky blue in colour. Would make an ideal matched Night and Day set.
The box indicates that they were retailed by Mallett Goldsmith, Bath - now known as Mallett Antiques, with galleries in London and New York who regularly exhibit at the International Fine Art & Antique Fairs. Founded in 1865 by John Mallett, Mallett Goldsmiths were the precursor company to Mallett Antiques, and they operated out of the famous Octagon Chapel - with workshops in the basement, showrooms on either side of the church, and even a gas engine to drive the polishing lathes.
