DATE: Art Nouveau, c.1900

A charming Art Nouveau Vinaigrette pendant, finished in gorgeous and colourful enamel. The front features a dragonfly and flowers, all of open work design, while the back features a charming flower design. Its modelled in 800 silver, most likely of Germany or Austrian origin. The front slides across to store a scent-soaked piece of fabric or foam, and the open worked design allows the wearer to disguise unpleasant odours that they might have happened across with something sweeter... Or I guess you could keep anything you like in there?! It hangs from a fine chain, with fitting for wear on a chain/bracelet.
