Antique Plique-à-Jour Enamel Lucky Pig Charm
Antique Plique-à-Jour Enamel Lucky Pig Charm
$3,500.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1903
This super charming lucky token features the ever lucky pig, surrounded by fine plique-à-jour enamel. Dated to December 9th, 1903, this piece was gifted "From God Daddy"... How sweet! The pig is finished with fine and realistic details, amongst a grassy scene- and is perfectly matched with the also lucky clover, in plique-à-jour enamel work. Its crafted in 15k gold and remains in great antique condition.
The term plique-à-jour literally translates into English as "letting in daylight", for the obvious reason that the light is allowed to pass through the coloured enamel work - just like stained glass.
