DATE: Vintage, c.1968

This colourful and fun vintage brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels brings a blast of colour, inspired by the vibrant society of the 60's and 70's. Modelled as a scarecrow, this piece dates from 1968, and is crafted in 18k gold throughout with wonderful textured detail of straw. The body is set with brilliant-cut diamonds and sapphire cabochons, while it's spherical chalcedony head is topped with a hat and wrapped with a scarf. It's feet are set with ruby cabochons, giving the whole piece a colourful look. The back of the brooch features the Van Cleef & Arpels marks, with two pins and a brooch fitting. A great addition to your scarf, button holes or collar.
