DATE: Edwardian, c.1910

This gorgeous antique brooch is modelled as a partridge bird. It's set with a cluster of diamonds that rest in platinum open backed settings, allowing the light to shine through the stones and enhancing their sparkle and brightness. A border of fine millegrain surrounds the bird, and it's eye is set with a small ruby. With little gold feet, it rets across a platinum bar with a 15k gold back. Dates from the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
