1930's Natural Pearl Swan Brooch
1930's Natural Pearl Swan Brooch
$2,250.00
Description
DATE: Art Deco, c.1930
Grace and beauty... Traits shared by both this brooch, and the swan it's modelled after. Beautifully crafted in 15k yellow gold, the swans body is set with a dreamy natural pearl. The shape of the stone fits perfectly to represent the swan, and it's "feathers" are set with white enamel, with a yellow beak and orange eye. It seems to be floating by across the bar brooch, and it dates from the Art Deco period, circa 1930. Swans appear throughout folklore and mythology, and they usually symbolize grace and beauty, as mentioned above. Aphrodite, the goddess of love, found swans sacred but they also had the honour of pulling Apollo’s chariot....Comes complete with the photographed fitted box.
