$300.00
Description
DATE: Vintage, c.1990
Charming vintage locket engraved with the opening lines of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night:
"If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.
That strain again! it had a dying fall:
O, it came o'er my ear like the sweet south,
That breathes upon a bank of violets"
The other side features a beautiful engraved floral design, with flowers, buds, thorny stems, and leaves emerging from a central English rose motif. It's crafted in silver, and dates from the late 1980s / early 1990.
