DATE: Georgian, c.1820

A superb Georgian single-stone ring dating from the early 19th century, circa 1820. It's set with a vivid green emerald paste gemstone surrounded by an ornately hand-engraved cushion-shaped border. The shoulders are decorated with further engraved detailing, delicate foliate scrolls, and it's crafted in 15 karat gold throughout. The closed back setting acts as a mirror allowing light to be reflected back through the stone accentuating its colour and brilliance.
