Georgian 5.4ct Diamond Cluster Drop Earrings
Georgian 5.4ct Diamond Cluster Drop Earrings
$33,400.00
Description
DATE: Georgian, c.1790
An incredible pair of Georgian diamond drop earrings. They comprise two separate articulated parts, hanging from gorgeous diamond cluster tops. Starting from the bottom, the pair features teardrop shaped drops, each one set with a 1.09ct pear cut diamond within a halo of old mine cut diamonds, approx. 1.10ct total. Two further old cuts hang directly from the cluster tops, where each one is set with a 0.22ct cushion cut and surrounded by 0.22 carat total of old cuts. They're DRIPPING with diamonds, full of life and sparkle, and they move fantastically in the light when dangled from the ear. The stones are set in silver cut down settings, typical of the period, and the open backs are in 15k gold. With screw backs, they hang around 1 and a half inches from the ear. An exceptional pair that has survived through the ages in remarkably good condition.
