DATE: Vintage, c.1960

Known for his unique designs and ability to handcraft gold, Charles De Temple grew to become on of the pioneers of the modern British jewellery movement. He was born in Mexico, 1929 and was brought up as a part of the Ringling Brothers Circus, touring across America. He then moved to London in 1957. Known for his flamboyant and statement pieces, I can understand where he got his design choices from, after being in the circus of course.

This piece, an oversized and show stopping domed ring. It's set with modern brilliant cut diamonds (approx. 3.5ct total) across a platinum domed head. Swirling and twisting textured gold work surrounds the dome, creating a flower like shape. The band, also textured, is crafted in 18k yellow gold and dates to the 1960's.
