Pre-Revolution Russian Blue Spinel 3-Stone Ring
Pre-Revolution Russian Blue Spinel 3-Stone Ring
$2,800.00
Description
DATE: Pre-Revolution, c.1900
A cool and rare three stone ring made in Pre-Revolution Russia, circa 1900. It's claw set with three gorgeous mixed cut blue spinel gemstones (1.5ct total). On the boundary line between the continents of Europe and Asia, the Urals rise above the horizon much like any other mountain range. What makes them different however, is what lies beneath... There were rare palettes of minerals, including spinel, colour-change alexandrite, demantoid garnets and emeralds. Because of their scarcity, these Russian-origin gemstones are in high demand! Sadly, the spectacular Ural Mountain deposits didn’t last forever and now most of the gemstones comes from Sri Lanka, East Africa, and Brazil. It's modelled in 14k gold (stamped 583), and features Russian marks on the outer band.
