DATE: Art Deco, c.1920

A breath-taking antique cluster ring, beautifully crafted and totally Art Deco in style. The shape of the head almost reminds me of the "evil eye", with the gorgeous marquise cut diamond surrounded by alternating stones. The centre stone, 0.15cts total, rests in platinum settings with a halo of calibre cut emerald surrounding. They display a well saturated colour, enhanced by the outer cluster of old cut diamonds following the marquise/eye shaped head. From this are emerald satellite points, creating great movement and leading to the platinum settings and finely pierced gallery. It has a fine knife-edge 18k gold band, and the ring itself rests beautifully against the finger, North/South.
