DATE: Vintage, c.1970

Seaside style. This cute vintage brooch is a splash of fun, modelled as a little turtle. It's shell is set with gorgeous blue and brown enamel, with a diamond stripe that runs along the top of it's head. The eyes, ruby set with textured detailing to the feet and tail. It's crafted in 18k gold and dates from the 1970's.

In many cultures, the turtle is associated with wisdom and patience and are considered a symbol of good luck. They're known for living a long life, gaining a great wisdom throughout its life. It represents the idea of taking things easy, being patient and learning from experiences.
