DATE: Georgian, c.1790

This finely detailed pendant dates from the Regency period, circa 1790, and is modelled as a golden lyre.. with a little secret compartment... It's crafted in 15k gold, with three-tone (yellow, green and rose) gold flower details that spread across the bottom of the lyre, with a turquoise cabochon set in the centre. With fine gold "strings" and further small gold detailing, the base features a small hinged compartment that opens and closes, ready for you to hold a keepsake. The lyre, a lovely representation of angelic music and heaven.
