Description
DATE: Art Deco, c.1930
Dating from the Art Deco period, circa 1930, this tubogas necklace is a revival of the Second World War era jewellery. Tubogas translates literally to “gas pipe” and is the name given to a type of chain formed from a pair of interlocking gold strips wrapped tightly together. This was popular in the 1930-40s because of the scarcity of metals during the war.
