DATE: Georgian, c.1780

A fantastic antique coral bead sautoir necklace dating from the Georgian period, circa 1780. It's 37 inches long and formed by six coral tassels, joined by large and textured coral beads. A fascinating piece, and the sautoir necklace is a design steeped in history, first worn by aristocracy in 18th century France, and the style soon spread to other areas of Europe and became popular amongst English nobles. Wear this with a low cut top, or style it like us with a low cut shirt or dress.
