DATE: Georgian, c.1780

A stunning miniature heart locket, set with a pyrite crown and border, which shine when moved in the light. It opens to reveal a small compartment, which you can leave empty or add a small photograph of your loved one(s). It's crafted in silver and comes complete with a jump ring to add to your chain. Dates from the Georgian period, circa 1780.

Pyrite is known to provide powerful protection against negative energy, shielding it's user from harmful energy and emotional stress. The word Pyrite comes from the Greek word for Pyr, which translates to fire – an echo of how the light catches on the surface of the stone. With shades of pale brass or a richer gold colour, Pyrite is a pretty stone that holds its own when it comes to a dazzling metallic shine.
