DATE: Georgian, 1824

A superb Georgian intaglio seal fob dating from the early 19th Century. The shield-shaped bloodstone panel has been carved with a heraldic crest - an eagle, wings outstretched, with one talon on a drinking horn - and motto: "La Fortune Passe Partout" which translates as Fortune In All Things (or Fortune is Everywhere). It's modelled in 18k gold, with exceptional textured detailing and English hallmarks from the year 1824.
