DATE: Georgian, c.1810

A beautiful Georgian urn locket dating from the early 19th Century, circa 1810. It's finished in fine coloured enamel (blue, green, and white) and modelled in 15 karat yellow gold. There's a hinged glass compartment to the back which opens to allow storage of a small memento or keepsake - given the Georgians' mourning habits this would likely have been an intricately woven lock of hair.
