Victorian Ruby & Diamond Navette Ring
$2,600.00
Description
DATE: Victorian, c.1890
Fantastic antique navette ring dating from the late Victorian period, circa 1890. The term navette - interchangeable with marquise - comes from the French word for a weaver's shuttle, literally "little ship", and as such these rings are also sometimes referred to as boat rings. The one has hints of the Art Nouveau movement with its stylised flower and foliate motifs. Set with two trios of rubies, and two old cut diamonds. It's crafted in 18 karat gold
