DATE: Russian Empire, c.1880

Cool antique "Devil in the Dice" charm made in pre-Revolution Russia, circa 1880. What is usually a demon-creature inside is spring loaded, popping up when the 2 face of the die is opened, however this one looks more like a prisoner, trapped inside his own vice. Crafted in 14k (56 zolotnik) gold, each of the number dots in set with a little turquoise cabochon. A simple reminder of the perils of gambling.
