Antique 15k Gold Spider Web Pendant
Antique 15k Gold Spider Web Pendant
$950.00
Description
DATE: Late Victorian, c.1910
Spiders, as a general rule, are not well-loved by humans but in ancient China, spiders were called "ximu" which roughly translates to "happy insects". They were believed to bring good luck, even though we see them as our 8 legged foes...
Modelled in 15k gold throughout, the pendant is made up of an 8 sided shape, with fine gold-work creating a web, topped with a spider in the centre. It features fittings for wear on a chain, and remains in lovely antique condition.
