DATE: Victorian, c.1890

Cool late Victorian sapphire and diamond crescent brooch with a (relatively) minimalist aesthetic. The front has a brushed matte gold finish, with seven gemstones in recessed square settings. Dating from the 1890s, the sapphires display excellent colour and the diamonds are chunky old mine cuts - crafted in 15 karat gold throughout.
