DATE: Georgian, c.1820

A pretty antique forget-me-not ring, with a charming message... Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers". It had a major impact upon Victorian society, however, it first originated during the Georgian period. Many flowers represented a romantic or emotional sentiment, and in this case, the head is modelled as a forget-me-not flower- for true love. The flower head is set with six vibrant turquoise cabochons with a dreamy pearl that rests in the centre. With a lovely ribbed band, it's crafted in 15k gold throughout and dates from the Georgian period, circa 1820.
