Georgian Turquoise & Diamond Forget-Me-Not Ring
Georgian Turquoise & Diamond Forget-Me-Not Ring
$1,100.00
Description
DATE: Georgian, c.1820
A pretty antique forget-me-not ring, with a secret message... Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers". It had a major impact upon Victorian society, however, it first originated during the Georgian period. Many flowers represented a romantic or emotional sentiment, and in this case, the head is modelled as a forget-me-not flower- for true love. The flower head is set with vibrant turquoise cabochons with a rose cut diamond that rests in the centre. With stylised stem/floral shoulders, it's crafted in 15k gold throughout and dates from the Georgian period, circa 1820.
