Georgian REGARD Acrostic Ring
$3,650.00
Description
DATE: Georgian, c.1830
Popular in the Georgian and Victorian eras, acrostic jewellery uses the first letter of each gemstone to convey a secret message or a token of affection. The most popular messages, regard, beloved and dear began in the Georgian era and flourished throughout the Victorian period. I think a truly romantic trend such as this should still be popular today...
This stunning Georgian ring features an acrostic message across the top in gemstones- Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and Diamond. REGARD. They're set in open backed settings, with gorgeous pommel details, split scrolled shoulders and a finely engraved band. Its modelled in 18k gold throughout, and remains in lovely antique condition.
