Vintage Robot Brooch by Guillemette L'Hoir, Paris
$1,500.00
Description
DATE: Vintage, c.1970
Francois Schoenlaub founded the company Guillemette L'Hoir in the 1970s. Known for their innovative and often geometric designs, jewellery was made from galalith, wood, plexiglass, horn and so on... Heavily inspired by the work of Auguste Bonaz and the Memphis group, the first collection was minimalist, refined and an instant success.
This fun brooch is modelled as a robot! He's super cute, his little legs dangle under his brightly coloured and boxy body. His arms, head and feet are black, while his body is blue! With little white eyes and oversized ears, he almost looks a little crazy... but in a cute way. With silver brooch fittings, its signed to the back with "Francois Schoenlaub pour Guillemette, Paris".
