DATE: Victorian, c.1890
This charming Victorian bar brooch features a lucky horseshoe to the centre. Its set with just under 1 carat of chunky and sparkly old cut diamonds, slightly graduating in size and arranged along the curved shoe. Horseshoes have long been associated with good luck, and has become popular symbol to provide protection. Many believe that to hang a horseshoe with the ends pointing upward, acts as a storage container for any good luck that happens to be floating by!
It rests upon a knife-edge gold bar, complete with a safety chain, and its crafted in rich 15 karat gold throughout. Comes complete with its fitted blue velvet box, and dates to circa 1890.
