DATE: Georgian, c.1820

A gorgeous Georgian pearl heart padlock dating from the early 19th Century. The dreamy pearl sits highly at the centre of the heart, and both the front and back features scroll detailing. The back reveals a heart shaped locket compartment and it's crafted in 18k gold throughout. The piece was originally designed as a bracelet or necklace clasp, and as such the top bar is hinged on opens. It dates from the Georgian period, circa 1820.
