DATE: Edwardian, c.1905

A particularly cool antique vesta case. It’s modelled in blackened gunmetal, and features two little gemset bugs crawling over the top. Each bug is set with a turquoise cabochon and a rose cut diamond, and the little button on the lid is set with another turquoise. It’s likely French in origin, and has a slightly curved shape so it can be worn comfortably in the pocket.
