Edwardian Demantoid Garnet Peacock Feather Brooch
Edwardian Demantoid Garnet Peacock Feather Brooch
$3,500.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
An utterly stunning antique peacock feather brooch in 15k three-tone gold. The brooch is yellow in colour, with rose and white gold feathers with tiny hand detailing, giving the feather a realistic and 'light as a feather' look. Set at the eye of the feather is a vivid demantoid garnet, a lovely contrast to the thee-toned gold. The quill and back is crafted in 18k gold and it dates from the Edwardian era, circa 1910.
The peacock feather is a powerful symbol of vitality, renewal, and rebirth. A single feather can represent so much in different cultures and mythologies around the world. However, it is believed that finding a feather brings a promise of exciting new beginnings, new adventures, and maybe even an inner transformation.
