DATE: Art Deco, c.1920

Remarkable antique lozenge brooch dating from the 1920s. A masterclass in platinum openwork is laid out around a central Ceylon blue sapphire - all fine millegrain swirls and chunky old cut diamonds (around 2 carats in total). Very classically Art Deco in style, it was hand-made in England circa 1920, clearly by a jeweller at the very top of their game.
