DATE: Art Deco, c.1920
A striking Art Deco period marquise cluster ring dating from the 1920's. The term marquise - interchangeable with navette - comes from the French word for a weaver's shuttle, literally "little ship", and are also sometimes referred to as boat rings. This one sits East-West along the finger and, the three principal stones, gorgeous green emeralds. They're arranged across the centre and surrounded by a bright cluster of chunky old mine cut diamonds. Crafted in 18k gold.
