DATE: Georgian, c.1830
A sweet late Georgian ring, fully charged with romantic sentiment. The head is modelled as a double heart - each one set with natural coral and a natural pearl. Double heart rings were usually given to a bride on her wedding day, to symbolise the union of two hearts. Different gemstones would represent different attributes.. Coral for wisdom, happiness and immortality and pearl for purity and wealth. The two stones are topped with an old cut diamond set crown, and it's crafted in 18k yellow gold throughout.
