DATE: Art Deco, c.1920
This beautiful antique brooch dates from the Art Deco period and is the perfect piece now Christmas is right around the corner. Set with an array of bright, white diamonds, 2.05ct total, the wreath circles round the five day spiritual compass- the journey in preparation for the nativity of the Lord. Each candle is set with baguette cut diamonds, each topped with a vivid emerald flame. They rest within gorgeous flower motifs, set with diamonds and emerald accents. It's crafted in platinum, it features fine millegrain detail throughout and the stones display great white colour and sparkle. Dates to the 1920's.
Each Advent candle symbolises a different thing:
The wreath represents eternal life through the faith in Jesus Christ.
The first candle represents the anticipation of Christ's coming and is considered as the Candle of Hope; the second one, the Bethlehem candle, considered as the Candle of Peace; the third, the Shepard's candle which is considered as the Candle of Love; and the fourth one, the Angels candle considered as the Candle of Joy...Finally, the fifth one represents Jesus Christ.
