$2,500.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
This sweet French antique pendant is crafted in 18k yellow gold throughout and set with glistening rose cut diamonds take the shape of a butterfly. A gorgeously enamelled flower curved round the butterfly, displaying vibrant blues and greens. A small rose cut rests in the centre of the flower, and it dates from the Edwardian period, circa 1910. A lovely addition to your charm and pendant collection.
Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers". Many flowers represented a romantic or emotional sentiment, and in this case, the head is modelled as three forget-me-not flowers- for true love. And... for the butterfly, it represents the soul.
