DATE: Georgian, c.1780

A sweet 18th Century Posy ring engraved with the words "In Christ and Thee My Comfort Bee". It's crafted in 18k gold, and dates from the 1780s (or thereabouts) with maker's mark GS. The name "Posy Ring" comes from the type of inscription within, which was often in rhyme or "posey". Modelled in 18k gold.
