Edwardian Natural Pearl & Diamond Openwork Ring
$1,950.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
This stunning antique ring is a masterclass in openwork and millegrain detail, and it dates from the Edwardian period, circa 1910. Centre stage is a large natural dreamy pearl, surrounded by old European cut diamond set open worked panels with gorgeous fine millegrain detailing. A halo of platinum surrounds this, following the almost oyster shell shaped head. Perhaps this ring is a reference to the "Birth of Venus", representing fertility, beauty and love. It features an open worked gallery, with pretty detailing that runs along the band. With further diamonds that rest at the shoulders, its crafted in platinum throughout.
