DATE: Edwardian, c.1902

A sweet Victorian locket in the form of a gold book with a lovely enamel pansy flower with the words 'Happy Memories' on the front. The book opens to reveal a page with the words 'With Love... From' and has been dated 14-4-02 (1902) along with a single locket compartment for your own photograph to be added. Crafted in 9karat gold and dating from the 1902. 

Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of the "Language of Flowers", whereby each flower or plant represented some romantic or emotional sentiment... In this case, pansy for thoughts.
