Mid-Century Serpent Ring
$950.00
Description
DATE: Mid-Century
This serpent ring is the perfect example of the ancient serpent in Greek mythology. It's crafted in 14k gold and wraps around the finger twice. The serpent's head shows small hand-carved marks representing its eyes, and its mouth shows a small black enamel inlay. Its head is stylised with angular elements in keeping with Mid-Century design circa 1950.
In Greek mythology, serpent rings were worn in honour of the Greek healing God to represent rebirth and immortality. The serpent symbolises different beliefs in different cultures, such as healing and eternal love.
