DATE: Edwardian, 1903

A striking Edwardian gypsy ring dating from the very early 20th century. This style was popular from the 1870s through to the 1920s, showing that some designs remained impervious to the seismic shifts associated with jewellery trends moving from the 19th into the 20th centuries. Set with blue sapphires and old Euro diamonds, alternating, with a diamond centre. It's substantial and well proportioned, somewhat unusually the two sapphires are larger than the central diamond, adding to its charm. Crafted in 18 karat gold with the most gorgeous antique patina, it bears Birmingham hallmarks from the year 1903.
