Edwardian Old Cut Diamond Round Cluster Ring
Edwardian Old Cut Diamond Round Cluster Ring
$1,850.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1920
An unusual antique cluster ring dating from the early 20th century, but with settings that give a clear nod to jewellery of the early 19th. The old cut diamonds are arranged on a round head - seven of them totalling around 60pts - with trifurcated "claw" motifs designed to look like the cut-down "pie crust" settings of the Georgian and early Victorian eras. Never seen one quite like it. The open gallery is finely worked in platinum, as are the settings, and the band is 18 karat white gold. Dating from the 1920s, maybe a little earlier.
