DATE: Art Deco, c.1925

A superb Art Deco necklace by German designer Knoll and Pregizer. It's a beautifully designed and constructed piece, crafted in sterling silver and set with white paste and red Bakelite "gemstones". The craftsmanship is excellent, with stones set in bezel and millegrain settings.

Knoll and Pregizer were established in 1887 and quickly made a name for themselves making silver and paste jewellery, but employing the same construction techniques employed in fine jewellery. The pieces are highly collectable, and few and far between these days.
