$2,350.00
Description
DATE: Arts & Crafts, c.1930
A super charming Arts and Crafts necklace by Bernard Instone, dating to the 1930's. The necklace is finished with his typical work of gorgeous floral enamel, gorgeous pastel colours that make up the entire necklace, and the surround of the centre green chalcedony pendant centre. It has a wearable length of 16 inches, is modelled in sterling silver throughout, and remains in lovely condition.
At the age of 22, Instone began working at the Birmingham School of Jewellery. His role was to assist in classes, however, he also produced his own jewellery. It was at this point in his life that he began to undertake jewellery commissions. He soon set up his own business, and pieces were often characterised by leaves, flowers, different coloured enamels and semi precious stones.
