DATE: Antique, c.1880

This gorgeous antique onyx and diamond locket is French made and it features the eagle head mark to the original bail, indicating its crafted in 18 karat gold. Its set with a single rose cut diamond in the centre of the square setting and onyx panel, and the large oval locket is set with dreamy black onyx, with fine gold stripes down the centre. Each one is set with a row of rose cut diamonds, in further square settings. They continue down and around to the back of the locket, where the oval locket compartment rests. It remains in lovely antique condition, and looks great worn on a chunky gold chain.
