Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of the "Language of Flowers", whereby each flower or plant represents some romantic or emotional sentiment... In this case, (hybrid) fuchsia, with its hanging blossoms that almost seem to whisper secrets, was a beautiful way to represent confiding love and trust... This matches perfectly with the word finely displayed across the charm- "Amabilité"- the French word for friendliness/kindness. This is shown through sliding the blue and pink flower across to one side, revealing the while enamel background and fine black wording. It dates to the turn of century, circa 1900, and the enamel remains in lovely condition considering its age. Modelled in silver.
